Beauty Trend For 2017: Microblading

Microblading is set to storm the beauty world in 2017, so what is it, and who’s have them done…

What is microblading?

Microblading is a brand new beauty technique set to take the world by storm in 2017, which is a form of tattoo artistry. Pigment is planted under the skin with a manual handheld tool, as opposed to using a machine. Hair-like strokes are then drawn on with the tool, to mimic natural hairs in your brows. It’s a good treatment for ladies (and men!) who want their brows filled out or reshaped.

The process tends to take 1-2 hours, and the area is numbed using numbing cream beforehand.

Queen of Brows: Karen Betts!

Queen of Brows, Karen Betts, has twenty years of experience using the Microblading technique, and is THE go-to lady for the best looking brows in town! She has developed her own elite team who are on hand to create the best looking brows to suit your face, whilst keeping them as natural looking as possible.

As well as being an industry leading permanent makeup artist, Wonder Woman Karen also finds time to run the successful Nouveau Beauty Gruop of companies, which includes the well known HD Brows, Nouveau Lashes and Nouveau Contour brands!

The entire Elite Team have been personally trained by Karen, and she regularly consults at locations all over the country. KB Pro now has three clinics across the UK in London, Pontefract and Cheshire, making it even easier to achieve those perfect brows.

Karen and her Elite Team either use the microblading technique, practised by Karen for over twenty years, or a Permanent Cosmetics Machine called the Noveau Contour Intelligent.

Karen was given the Woman of the Year Award at the 2014 NatWest Every Woman Awards, and is the SPCP leader. She is the go-to microblading expert for countless celebrities. Gail Porter is the latest celeb to be treated, having lost her eyebrows to alopecia.

My brow history…

It’s a treatment that I whole-heartedly want to have done on myself next year.

I used to have my brows waxed between the ages of 14 – 16 because I hated how busy and messy they looked.

My beautician was lovely… but she waxed my eyebrows so much that it got to the point where my eyebrows were incredibly thin, gappy and not complimentary of my face – at all!

Fast forward 4 years and I’ve tried every product under the sun, from gels to powders to at-home tinting kits and creams.

I’m now confidently using Benefit‘s  Brow Zings to fill in and shape my eyebrows, and Benefit Ready, Set, BROW! setting gel to keep them set in place.

Although I do love these products, I could save myself soooo much time in the morning if I had some microblading brows on me already.

Plus, I’d be able to have that extra 10 minutes or so in bed each morning!

Have you had microblading done before? What are your experiences with it?

Microblading sounds like a great technique! I overplucked my eyebrows nonstop when I was a teenager but fortunately they've pretty much grown back in although it took a good 5 years. I hope you get a chance to try out microblading so you can have those extra minutes in bed in the morning!
