I’m 20! & *15* Things To Achieve And Do This Year

I have been on this Earth for 20 years already. TWENTY YEARS. Sounds like forever when you say it like that, but here’s what I want to achieve before I turn 21 and things I’d like to do…

1. Be Happy

Both physically and mentally. I want to learn to be more optimistic about situations and feel confident in the decisions that I make. I want to push myself this year to be in that place.

2. Be Healthy

Again, both physically and mentally. I’ve entered 2016 single and I know it’s the best place to be now; I’m out of a bad situation but life can only get better. I want to change how I see food too ~ i.e. not as comfort ~ .

3. Join The Gym

…which ties in nicely with the first 2 points! 2 years ago I was going to the gym daily and taking classes, and I want to get back to that place!

4. Book A Driving Lesson

I need to stop being a wimp basically and book a lesson. All of the jobs I’ve looked at, a license and car is a necessity, so I need to stop relying on public transport ~ and the rents ~ and learn to drive.

5. Go Travelling

I said this last year, but I’d really love to go travelling. I’ve seen people come back from it with a more positive attitude and with experiences, and I feel like that’s something that could help me. But when I say travelling… I’ll stick to Europe for now. Won’t see me roughing it back packing! ~ I like my home comforts ~ .

6. Go On A Girly Holiday

I really want to go on some girly weekends away this year, like mini breaks abroad or even local breaks, to spas etc.

7. Do Work Experience Placements / An Internship

As much as I love the people I work with, I don’t want to be in retail forever. I have an NCTJ journalism qualification which I’d like to put to good use, so I’d love to find PR/Comms/Digital Media work exp. placements to get a taster of working in that field.

8. Find A Hobby

When people ask me what I do in my spare time or hobbies that I like doing – I freeze. When I’m not at work I’m at Spoons or Costa, (classy gal right here) so I want to find hobbies. Whether that’s reading more, watching more films, taking photography more seriously or volunteering.

9. Go To More Blogging Events

I backed out of a few blogging events last year because of work and being worried to go alone. But that needs to stop this year! I need to stop using work as an excuse, – because lets face it, I would happily go to all these London events if I didn’t have work at 6am the next morning – and I need to be more independent.

10. Save Money

I said this last year but I’d like to save a set amount of money each month and then treat myself to something big at the end of the year. But will that actually happen this year? Fingers crossed.

11. Do More In The Summer

This year, I want to go to a music festival, and just generally enjoy the summer with friends.

12. See A Musical

I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical this year and flipping loved it. I’d love to see another this year! Any recommendations?

13. Go To A Spa

I’d love to go for a weekend spa trip with my Mumma C. I’ve never had either, but I really fancy a massage or a head massage.

14. Walk Over The 02

Because why not? The views look incred, especially at sunset.

15. Make Plans For My 21st

I feel like 19 & 20 are limbo ages. Nothing really special happens and not much seems to be expected of you. I feel like 21 is where it all begins! I’d love to go to NYC or Santorini for a girly mid week break with my Mumma C.

I turn 19 at the end of the month and I don't know how to feel about that! Book that driving lesson girl, it's the best thing I ever did and driving gives you a whole level of independence you didn't know was possible!

I love goal lists like these, think I need to set myself some too (though I'm 25, now THAT sounds old aha). I learned to drive when I was 22 and it was one of the best things I ever did, you'll love it when you're on the road πŸ™‚

Fab post lovely, and happy birthday! πŸ™‚ I agree I want to push myself this year to be a happier and more confident person. I’ve actually purchased a FitBit to help get myself fit by walking more and trying to get 10k steps a day.

Happy belated birthday, Hannah! This is a brilliant list of goals – it sounds like you're really aiming to get yourself into a better place physically and mentally (with plenty of fun chucked in!). I don't think you need 20 – these 15 are already pretty great!

Belated happy birthday, Hanna! Some of the things off your list makes it on mine as well. However, I'm already making some plans for my 21st because, yey, I'm legal everywhere in the world! I'm hoping to be in a different country to celebrate my 21st. Santorini/NYC would be perfect – but I have to be realistic. Haha.
